Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta seeks a Behavioral & Mental Health Therapist to join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team delivering integrated services for children and adolescents in a hospital setting.

The role emphasizes evidence-based assessments, therapy delivery, crisis planning, and family-inclusive care. A master’s degree and Georgia licensure are required, with experience in pediatric behavioral health and allied therapies preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, or marriage and family therapy from an accredited university.
• An unrestricted license in the state of Georgia (LCSW, LMFT, LPC). For Children’s at Hughes Spalding, LCSW certification is required.
• 3 years supervised experience with intake evaluations and regular therapy for children/adolescents in medical or behavioral health settings.
• Experience with Unified protocol, CBT, ACT, DBT, TF-CBT, PCIT, or Solution-Focused Therapy.
• Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Provide evidence-based delivery of assessments, consultations, and therapy tailored to the patient’s needs and severity.
• Gather and integrate information from client self-reports, family reports, medical records, and treatment history.
• Conduct crisis and safety planning and coordinate transfers to higher levels of care as needed.
• Maintain a therapeutic relationship with patient and family.
• Include family participation in all phases of the patient’s program while communicating at the patient/family level of understanding.
• Communicate with support and operational staff to ensure patient continuity of care.
• Assess client satisfaction and participate in program evaluation as needed.
• Generate flexible solutions to barriers in patient care.
