Job summary

AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center seeks a distinguished Chief of Thoracic Surgery to lead our thoracic program within the Heart & Vascular Institute. You will set clinical direction, drive growth, and improve outcomes across the system.

This role fosters multidisciplinary collaboration, mentorship, and research leadership as we launch a new era with Temple University’s Lewis Katz School of Medicine and Stockton-AtlantiCare College of Community Health.

Qualifications

• MD/DO from an accredited institution.
• Board Certified in Thoracic Surgery or equivalent.
• Eligible for licensure in New Jersey.
• 7–10 years of clinical leadership experience preferred.
• Experience with minimally invasive and robotic thoracic surgery preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight for thoracic surgery services across the system.
• Lead development and expansion of thoracic oncology in collaboration with oncology, pulmonology, and radiology.
• Advance minimally invasive and robotic thoracic surgery capabilities.
• Establish and standardize clinical pathways, protocols, and best practices.
• Recruit, mentor, and retain thoracic surgeons and APPs; foster multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Serve as a liaison between medical staff and administration.
