Your Opportunity + Impact

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for developing and executing the company's technology vision with a focus on innovation, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, automation, and technology-enabled business growth. The CTO serves as a strategic and hands- on technology leader who identifies, evaluates, and implements emerging technologies that improve operational efficiency, project delivery, employee productivity, and client value. This role combines executive leadership with deep technical expertise, requiring direct involvement in the development, implementation, and optimization of technology solutions that advance organizational capabilities, foster innovation, and support long- term business objectives. Working closely with executive leadership, operational leaders, project managers, discipline leads, and technical teams, the CTO drives enterprise technology innovation while promoting technology adoption across the organization. Success depends on adoption by project managers and discipline leads, so partnership with them is central to the role. The CTO translates emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, and automation opportunities into practical solutions that enhance performance, improve efficiency, and deliver measurable business value.

Key Responsibilities
Technology Strategy & Digital Transformation
  • Develop and maintain LDG's multi-year technology and innovation roadmap.
  • Align technology investments and initiatives with strategic business objectives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their applicability to business operations, project delivery, and client services.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, quality, and profitability through technology enablement.
  • Advise executive leadership regarding technology trends, risks, opportunities, and competitive advantages.
  • Define measurable annual objectives for technology and innovation initiatives and report progress against them
Artificial Intelligence & Innovation Leadership
  • Lead enterprise applied AI initiatives, including those already in progress, and be directly involved in the practical implementation of AI-driven solutions across the organization.
  • Identify and prioritize automation opportunities that improve business processes and project workflows.
  • Pilot and evaluate emerging technologies that support operational excellence and innovation.
  • Develop organizational competency and technology literacy related to AI, automation, and digital tools.
  • Establish frameworks for responsible, secure, and effective use of AI technologies, in coordination with the Director of Information Technology, who retains ownership of security and CMMC/CUI compliance.
Enterprise Architecture & Technology Standards
  • Establish and govern technical architecture decisions.
  • Set development and integration standards.
  • Oversee technical debt management.
  • Serve as the organization's technical authority on AEC technology platforms (including the Autodesk and Bentley ecosystems), workflows, and emerging industry trends.
  • Partner with discipline leaders and project managers to improve technology adoption and utilization.
  • Evaluate opportunities to enhance BIM, design technology, digital delivery, data management, visualization, and project execution workflows.
  • Champion technology solutions that improve project outcomes and client experiences.
  • Monitor emerging technologies within the AEC industry and recommend adoption strategies.
Vendor & Strategic Partner Management
  • Evaluate and manage strategic technology partnerships and vendor relationships.
  • Lead technology evaluations, proof-of-concept initiatives, and pilot programs.
  • Negotiate technology agreements related to innovation initiatives, software platforms, and emerging technologies, ensuring terms are reviewed for federal flow-down and CUI/CMMC implications.
  • Develop relationships with industry organizations, technology providers, and innovation partners.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Partner with executive leadership and business unit leaders to identify and prioritize technology initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Information Technology to ensure alignment between innovation initiatives and operational support capabilities.
  • Mentor and influence technical staff, project teams, and technology champions across the organization.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, experimentation, and responsible technology adoption.
  • Communicate technology strategy, progress, and outcomes to executive leadership and the Board as appropriate.
Education and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field, preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of fifteen (15) years of job-related experience, including at least 10 years in a senior technology leadership role and industry experience relevant to AEC (architecture, engineering, and construction).
