Job description

Position Summary

Merjent, Inc. (Merjent) is currently seeking an experienced UAS Chief Supervisor of Agricultural Operations under Part 137. The selected candidate will be responsible for the oversight and management of a Part 137 UAS agricultural program, as well as supporting Part 107 operations. This role is ideal for a professional who is eager to develop and implement a UAS agricultural program.

This is a full-time benefits eligible opportunity that can be based anywhere in the US. The anticipated annual salary for this position is between $70,000 and $100,000 annually, dependent upon qualifications and experience. This position is also bonus eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Act as Chief Supervisor under Part 137, with oversight and management of agricultural UAS program.
  • Act as Remote Pilot in Command for UAS aerial application operations.
  • Support Part 107 operations of small and large aircraft for photography, videography, photogrammetry, LiDAR, and other sensors.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on UAV systems.
  • Train, test, and oversee other remote pilots under Part 107 and Part 137.
  • Records management and reporting under Part 137.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Current Part 107 Remote Pilot certificate.
  • Current Part 137 certification.
  • Current FAA third-class medical certificate.
  • Experienced UAS pilot under Part 107 and Part 137.
  • Experience operating under >55 pounds and beyond visual line of sight FAA UAS exemptions.
  • Proven ability to oversee and manage airborne operations under Part 137.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the regulatory frameworks.
  • Specialized training and/or experience in aerial applications including materials handling, application of chemicals or products, emergency procedures, and equipment maintenance.
  • Hold one or more state certifications or endorsements in the Upper Midwest (Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota) for airborne application of agricultural products and chemicals, and ability to become certified in additional states as needed.
  • Ability to follow FAA and Merjent safety and operations protocols.
