Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education, educational leadership, student affairs, higher education from an accredited institution
• At least five years of professional experience in related work
• Experience in a higher education setting preferred
• Budget management experience with efficiency improvements and reductions
• Experience working in a student services or student affairs office
• Supervision experience and capability to lead diverse teams
• Familiarity with governance, legal issues at campus, state and federal levels
• Knowledge of student development theory and effective programs
• Ability to draft professional correspondence using computer software
• Experience serving diverse student populations in a state university or equivalent
• Energetic, innovative, student-centered program development
• Willingness to provide 24/7 response to student situations and to work evenings/weekends when needed

Responsibilities

• Serve as the chief student affairs professional for the university.
• Provide guidance, oversight, and supervision of select student affairs departments.
• Lead crisis management during student mental health emergencies and safety events.
• Manage division budget allocations and ensure fiscal oversight.
• Lead division-wide assessment, program evaluations, and reporting to the President.
• Support accreditation efforts related to student affairs.
• Compile assessment data and reports for reporting units.
• Build relationships with other departments to enhance student success.
• Develop and facilitate programs focused on student advocacy and engagement.
• Ensure fair and consistent student treatment across reporting units.
• Participate in professional development and serve on university committees.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
