Job summary

Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill in Harrodsburg, KY, seeks a Vice President of Natural and Cultural Resource Management to steward historic buildings, natural resources, and landscapes. You will lead preservation, maintenance and farm operations, shaping multi-department policies and long-term plans while guiding a senior leadership team.

You will collaborate with the President/CEO and oversee a program of capital planning, safety compliance, and donor communications, ensuring world-class guest

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years equivalent experience in Historic Preservation, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Property/Facility Management or related field.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of supervisory/management experience, preferably at executive level.
• Experience developing and implementing preventative and responsive land stewardship and facility maintenance plans.
• Experience in project management required.
• Experience in farm management is preferred.
• Experience in natural resource management is preferred.
• Experience with GIS or similar mapping software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Maintenance and Landscape Managers to ensure safe, well-maintained buildings and grounds.
• Oversee Preservation Department to meet historic preservation standards during ongoing work to preserve 34 nineteenth century structures and other assets.
• Ensure work meets preservation standards to qualify for tax credits and federal funding.
• Develop and implement property maintenance programs, calendars and capital expense forecasting.
• Support and supervise Natural Resources Director to steward land and resources for guests.
• Support and supervise Farm Manager to provide farm-to-table produce and proteins.
• Oversee trails, stables and equestrian facilities via Preserve Manager.
• Oversee staff training to ensure health, OSHA and safety compliance.
• Share information on facility care and archival documentation for decision making.
• Champion high-quality workmanship and aesthetics across projects.
