Job summary

Kepler Communications is seeking a US-based Chief Solutions Architect to lead high‑level technical solutions from concept through commercialization, coordinating with sales and engineering. You will work across teams to drive growth for the Kepler Network and support government and commercial customers.

The role requires a strategic thinker who can mentor teams in an agile environment, articulate complex technical concepts to executives, and travel as needed to advance opportunities globally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or scientific field.
  • 15+ years of directly related experience or equivalent.
  • Experience with commercial and Federal customers.
  • Strong designer able to translate concepts into credible products or services.
  • Leader with innovation strategy in new product development and budgeting.
  • Experience mentoring teams in an agile environment.
  • Excellent communication and strategic thinking abilities.
  • U.S. citizen with active TS/DOD clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Architect high-level technical solutions from inception to commercialization with sales and engineering coordination.
  • Develop marketing and sales materials for new technical concepts and proposals.
  • Partner with sales/engineering to address needs of U.S. Government customers and strategic applications.
  • Identify and advance technical upgrades to existing products for U.S. and international initiatives.
  • Maintain knowledge of space industry trends and future opportunities.
  • Serve as technology leader on Kepler’s U.S. leadership team.
  • Travel 25–30% annually (domestic and international).

US‑Based Chief Solutions Architect

This position reports directly to the President, Kepler Communications US and is pivotal in providing critical support to our U.S. customers, as well as to the engineering and business development teams. The Chief Solutions Architect will also support the Kepler executive team on key strategic initiatives that will increase usage and capabilities of the Kepler Network.

As a key member of a passionate, accomplished team of experts, you will participate in the technical development of satellites and their subsystems—laser focused on the Kepler Vision of building the internet in space. We are seeking a proactive, self‑driven, service‑oriented individual with excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills that can thrive in a fast‑paced environment. In this hands‑on position, you will work with business development, engineering, and Kepler’s customers to drive growth and market presence for the Kepler U.S. entity. This position will directly impact the history of space development and the growth of the space economy requiring your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards effective and timely development of Kepler's unique space solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect high‑level technical solutions, concepts, and applications for new market opportunities from inception through commercialization in concert and coordination with sales and engineering.
  • Contribute to the development of marketing and sales materials for new technical concepts, applications and solutions—including customer presentations and proposals.
  • Partner with the sales and engineering teams to identify and develop solutions that address the needs of U.S. Government customers as well as strategic applications utilizing the company’s existing portfolio of technologies and capabilities.
  • Partner with Kepler’s engineering team to identify, assess and advance technical upgrades to existing products supporting efforts in the U.S., both commercial and government, as well as key strategic initiatives worldwide.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the space industry, including technology and market trends.
  • Serve as the technology leader on Kepler’s U.S. leadership team.
  • Travel approximately 25‑30% annually (domestic and international).
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or scientific field.
  • 15+ years of directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience interacting and co‑architecting solutions with commercial and Federal customers.
  • Strong designer, with an ability to take an idea from a notional concept and develop it into a product or service that has technical credibility and is responsive to a business case and market.
  • Strong technology leader with a proven track record in innovation strategy within new product development, strategic planning, goal setting, process development and budgeting.
  • Experienced managing and mentoring individuals and technical teams within an agile environment.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and strategic thinking abilities with a problem‑solving aptitude.
  • Strong ability to convey technical topics in easy‑to‑understand business terms and work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and external partners.
  • Intellectual horsepower with the ability to identify new opportunities, drive clarity, create focus and make tough decisions in complex and dynamic contexts.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to present with credibility a technical or business case to executive leadership.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Current and/or active U.S. TS/DOD clearance.
Bonus Points
  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in technology or a business discipline.
