Job summary

Newton County Government is seeking a Water Treatment Operator with a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in a treatment facility, including at least two years at a Class 1 water treatment plant installing, maintaining, and operating equipment. A lead worker or supervisory background is preferred.

Candidates must hold a valid Georgia driver’s license, a Class II Georgia Drinking Water Treatment Operator’s license, and submit a current, certified 3-year MVR.

Qualifications

• Five years of progressively responsible experience in a treatment facility, including at least two years at a Class 1 water treatment plant installing, maintaining, and operating equipment.
• Previous lead worker or supervisory experience preferred.

Job description

A minimum of 5 years progressively responsible experience working in a treatment facility including at least 2 years’ experience working in a Class 1 water treatment plant installing, maintaining, and operating equipment. Previous lead worker or supervisory experience preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.

• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Class II Georgia Drinking Water Treatment Operator’s license Certification.
• Must submit a current, certified 3-year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
