Job summary

City and County of Denver is seeking a Chief Security Officer/Manager, Denver Security Office to provide enterprise-level leadership and oversight of security for city facilities, employees, visitors and assets. The role collaborates with General Services, Facility Maintenance and law enforcement partners to deliver proactive solutions.

The position requires strategic and hands-on leadership, change management, and strong governance across contracted vendors and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Public or Business Administration, Risk Management, Facility Management or a related field.
• Three (3) years of experience at the level of operational management with supervision of professionals.
• Valid Driver's License required at time of application.
• CJIS clearance must be obtained during probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Provide enterprise-level leadership and oversight of internal and contracted security operations for city facilities, employees, visitors, assets and critical operations.
• Collaborate with General Services leadership, Facility Maintenance, Risk Management, and city security partners to deliver high-level security solutions.
• Lead organizational change, continuous improvement, and data-informed decision making, while maintaining flexibility under evolving needs.
