Job summary

The U.S. Department of Agriculture seeks an SES, General position (Level I) with a salary range of $192,332 to $204,121 per year.

This senior leadership role oversees the Wildlife Services NWRC and develops strategic and operational plans to support mission priorities, with strong collaboration across federal, state, and local partners. Applicants must meet ECQ and TQ requirements and prepare a two-page resume.

Qualifications

• ECQs and Technical Qualifications (TQs) must be thoroughly addressed in a two-page resume.

Responsibilities

• Leads NWRC and ensures mission focus on methods development.
• Develops strategic and operational plans to support Wildlife Services priorities.
• Oversees laboratory and field research programs with federal, tribal, state, local governments, and other stakeholders.
• Manages budgets based on workload, planning, and capabilities.
• Provides scientific leadership in evaluation, testing, and new technologies for wildlife damage management.

Education

Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position
