Job summary

Cape Air is seeking an executive leader to provide strategic direction for safety, safety programs, and the Safety Management System (SMS). You will advise the CEO and senior leadership on safety risks, regulatory exposure, and company safety performance, while ensuring investigations are thorough and corrective actions are implemented.

The role also includes liaising with FAA and other agencies and representing Cape Air in safety forums.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with aviation safety programs and SMS is preferred.
• Knowledge of 14 CFR Part 91 and Part 135 operations is desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership and strategic oversight of Cape Air’s safety strategy and SMS.
• Advise CEO and senior leadership on safety risks, regulatory exposure, and safety performance.
• Oversee safety investigations and ensure root causes are identified and corrective actions implemented.
• Drive enterprise-wide accountability for safety and prioritize material safety risks with cross-functional leaders.
• Represent Cape Air in industry organizations and external safety forums.
