Job summary

Gaylor Electric, Inc. is seeking a Director of Safety to lead the strategy, development, and performance of the safety management program. The role drives a scalable safety organization to support service work, small and mid-sized projects, and mega projects.

The Director of Safety will build leadership capability, create accountable systems, and partner with executive leadership, Operations, and corporate personnel to ensure safe, reliable execution at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, engineering, construction management, business or related discipline.
• Professional credentials such as CSP, CHST, CIH, PE, OSHA 500 or other relevant certifications preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in construction safety.
• Experience leading geographically dispersed teams and complex operations.
• Strong leadership, change management and safety program development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a multi-year enterprise safety strategy aligned with growth, business plan, operating model, and risk priorities.
• Design and continually improve a scalable safety organization with staffing models across projects.
• Partner with Operations to integrate safety into estimating, preconstruction, planning, procurement, scheduling, startup, execution, and closeout.
• Lead and develop safety professionals and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Provide executive oversight for high-risk or strategically important projects and ensure effective safety governance.
