Job summary

seeks a Senior/Director-level risk management professional to lead county-wide risk, insurance, safety, and claims programs. You will shape policy, supervise staff, and coordinate with officials on risk financing and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include directing safety initiatives, managing budgets, and representing the county with insurers and regulators. A bachelor's degree and relevant experience are required; OSHA 30-Hour is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus at least three years of related work experience.
  • Or an Associate’s degree plus at least five years of related work experience.
  • Valid SC driver's license with acceptable driving history.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and strategic direction for risk management, safety, insurance, and claims programs.
  • Serves as principal advisor on risk management, liability, safety, and regulatory compliance; ensures legal compliance.
  • Directs insurance strategy and long-term risk financing; administers property, casualty, and workers' compensation programs.
  • Represents County before carriers, regulators, and professionals on risk matters.
  • Directs safety programs, training, and regulatory reporting; oversees drug and alcohol testing program.
  • Supervises assigned staff and manages performance; participates in succession planning and development.
