Job summary

United Pacific seeks a strategic VP of Risk Management to lead Loss Prevention, Audit, Safety, Workers' Compensation and Insurance. You will partner with executives to align risk controls with growth, oversee multi-state operations and support company integrity.

You will hire and develop teams, manage budgets, advance safety programs, drive incident response, and optimize insurance programs while collaborating with Legal, HR, Retail Operations and IT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Risk Management, Safety Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience is required.
• MBA and/or JD preferred.
• 10 plus years’ progressive experience in loss prevention, asset protection or risk control with at least 5 years in senior leadership is required.
• 5 plus years’ experience leading LP, Risk and Safety teams in a multi-unit retail or food service environment is also required.
• Experience selecting and managing commercial insurance policies including identifying and selecting carriers, negotiating terms and managing SLAs is required.
• Credentialing includes CRM, ARM, CPUC or CSP preferred.
• Experience developing and managing department budgets and tracking and reporting enterprise-wide risk costs is required.
• Training in proven interview techniques (Wicklander-Zulawski or PEACE Framework) is required.
• Experience leading complex internal investigations related to potential fraud, theft and policy violations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for executive presentations; proven partnerships with internal/external teams.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, coach and develop the Loss Prevention, Audit, Safety, Workers' Compensation, and Insurance teams.
• Develop and implement strategies to reduce shrink, fraud, theft and operational waste across retail locations and corporate offices.
• Lead the commercial insurance and workers' compensation processes, including vendor management and policy development.
• Ensure partnerships with Legal counsel and HR, Retail Operations for risk strategy alignment.
• Develop, refine and report safety programs including OSHA, EPA and NFPA compliance.
• Lead crisis and incident response, investigations and major incident planning.
• Partner with law enforcement and report industry and company risk trends.
• Utilize technology to improve safety for associates, customers and property.
• Direct the inventory audit process to minimize product loss.
• Oversee video surveillance policy, installation and data handling.
• Lead risk management for new site acquisitions and expansion.
• Travel to store sites and offices as required.
