Job summary

Blue Mountain Resort in Palmerton, PA seeks a Vice President & General Manager to oversee Mountain Operations and Grounds Maintenance, Pub & Grill, Bike Park, and Summit Adventure Park. Lead safety, training, budgeting and vendor relations while driving continuous improvement in snowmaking and resort operations.

Responsibilities include staffing, preventative maintenance programs, emergency response, and cross-department coordination to ensure year-round, safe, high-quality guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Leadership, problem-solving, organizational and communication skills required.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of snowmaking, high voltage electrical, and grooming.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• At least 5 years in mountain operations management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and knowledge of snow automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operations of Mountain Operations and Grounds Maintenance teams, Slopeside Pub & Grill, Bike Park and Summit Adventure Park ensuring efficient and safe operations.
• Supervise and train staff including scheduling and guidance for safety and efficiency.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for the snowmaking system.
• Inspect and maintain terrain to meet safety standards, manage risk and enforce policies.
• Monitor snowmaking system and electrical data for safety and efficiency.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding and training initiatives across departments.
• Maintain records of maintenance and repairs including work orders, inspections and safety checks.
• Establish and maintain vendor relationships for parts, services and equipment.
• Develop and manage annual budgets with cost control and resource allocation.
• Participate in project management and off-season maintenance activities.
• Respond to emergencies to minimize operational disruptions.
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate terrain, water, machinery and electrical infrastructure for year-round operations.
• Drive evolution of operational guidelines and service standards following safety and industry best practices.
