Job summary

The University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing seeks an accomplished researcher and collaborative leader to serve as its next Associate Dean for Research (ADR). The ADR is the College’s senior research leader, providing strategic direction for advancing research, scholarship, and external funding across the College of Nursing.

Reporting to the Dean, the ADR represents the College within UNMC and the University of Nebraska system on research matters and serves as the primary liaison

Qualifications

• PhD required for Associate Professor/Professor level appointment.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Track record of externally funded research.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction for advancing research, scholarship, and external funding across the College of Nursing.
• Mentor faculty and PhD students; foster interdisciplinary research collaborations.
• Strengthen grant development and expand external funding from federal agencies, foundations, and industry.
• Maintain an active program of research and scholarship; hold a distinguished endowed chair.
• Oversee NNRC research infrastructure, budget, space, and reporting of outcomes.
• Collaborate with College leadership to align research investments with strategic priorities.
