What does a Chief Research Analyst, Behavioral Sciences do?
Selection Requirements
A Ph.D. or other doctoral degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in a field of the behavioral or social sciences* - AND - Two years' full-time post doctorate research experience including responsibility for the design, evaluation and implementation of research projects in a behavioral or social science field.
Physical Class II – Light:
This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.

No withhold will be allowed. Required education/experience must be fully met at the time of filing and clearly indicated on the application.
If you are a veteran, you may be eligible for veteran’s credit, which is an additional 10% of the total points added to a passing score. We will need a legible copy of your form DD214 to review, so please include that with your application or email it to the exam analyst at kenny.lu@probation.lacounty.gov within seven days of filing your application.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONSExamination Content
This examination will consist of an Evaluation of Training, Experience and Education worth 100%. This assessment type will evaluate the training, experience, education, and desirable qualifications you list on a questionnaire and assign a score on a standardized scoring system.
Applicants will need to meet the requirements and receive a passing score of 70% or higher on the assessment to be placed on the list.
Eligibility Information
Qualified applications who passed the assessment are placed on an eligible register in the order of their score group for a period of twelve (12) months.

Fingerprinting and Security Clearance
A detailed background investigation will be conducted prior to appointment. Any false statement or omission of material fact may cause forfeiture of employment rights. Information presented on the employment application, resume, and during the examination process is subject to verification.
Candidates who are found unsuitable for employment will be removed from the eligible list pursuant to Civil Service Rule 6.04.
Available Shift
Appointees may be required to work any shift, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
