Vertex Refining Alabama LLC in Saraland, AL is seeking a Principal Reliability & Rotating Equipment Engineer to serve as the site's senior technical authority for rotating machinery and to shape the reliability strategy for critical assets.

The role owns asset condition management, leads major failure investigations, and drives improvements across engineering, maintenance, and operations, with potential for leadership as the reliability program matures.

Qualifications

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
12 years of progressive experience in refining, petrochemical, or heavy process industries.
Strong experience with rotating equipment and reliability engineering.
CMMS proficiency (SAP PM, Maximo or equivalent).
Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Own and develop the site's reliability strategy and asset management program.
Lead significant failure investigations and defect elimination efforts.
Provide technical authority for rotating machinery and MOC processes.
Manage condition monitoring, lubrication, and operator-driven reliability programs.
Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering to implement improvements.
Support turnaround planning and execution.
