Job summary

Communities In Schools of Richmond is seeking a strategic Vice President of Programs to oversee school-based programming in 42 partner schools across Richmond and Henrico's East End. You will lead and develop the program team, build district and community partnerships, and drive continuous improvement of the CIS model.

The role requires a strong background in education/youth development, significant leadership experience, and a commitment to CIS’s mission. Ideal start date is January 4, 2027.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
• Significant experience leading teams and managing complex partnerships.
• Experience with Communities In Schools is not required.
• Expertise in social work, education, youth development or related field valued.
• Proven ability to translate strategy into priorities and actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and develop five Program Directors and the Community Engagement Manager.
• Set expectations, priorities, and measures of success; provide coaching and accountability for performance.
• Oversee programming across 42 partner schools, ensuring high-quality CIS model implementation.
• Build and maintain district partnerships with Richmond Public Schools and Henrico County Public Schools.
• Cultivate relationships with community organizations to expand resources for students and families.
• Strengthen CIS's relationships and reputation across partner schools and districts.
