Job summary

Island Harvest Food Bank is seeking an energetic, visionary chief executive to lead a not-for-profit hunger-relief organization on Long Island, overseeing strategy, fundraising, operations, and community programs.

The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of nonprofit leadership experience with a proven ability to manage teams, build partnerships, and advance anti-hunger initiatives; strong knowledge of outreach services and networks; and solid tech literacy.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in a complex nonprofit human services or related organization with at least 4 years in a managerial role.
• Proven track record in leading teams and advancing hunger-relief initiatives.
• Knowledge of outreach services and network relations; strong computer skills.

This candidate will have a proven progressive and successful record of accomplishment while managing a team for a complex not-for-profit human services, healthcare or related organization to align with the needs and objectives of an expanding organization. Demonstrated success in managing a team of professionals is important. Knowledge of outreach services and network relations is important, as is advanced computer skills.

Experience: 5-10 years’ experience working in a complex not-for profit human services, healthcare or related organization with at least 4 years in a managerial position. Prior nonprofit experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

• Outreach Services and network relations.
• Advanced computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Community work to care for and support vulnerable populations throughout Long Island.
