Full-time position available with the Water Department, Wastewater Treatment Division located at 7300 Hawthorne Road.

Salary Range: $29.98-$44.97/hour

Normal Work Days/Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 3:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and participate in the operation of major treatment facilities and pumping stations.
• Establish operating procedures for efficient wastewater facility operation.
• Troubleshoot process and equipment issues.
• Prioritize repair work and maintain accurate operational records.
• Ensure sample collection complies with NPDES permit requirements.
• Train operators and develop career plans for staff.
• Provide safety training and enforce safety practices.
• Enforce city policies and perform related duties.

Qualifications

REQUIRES: High school diploma, 1 year experience as Senior Plant Operator, valid driver’s license, and A-level operator certification in waste/wastewater from Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Pre-employment drug screening and physical exam required.
