Job summary

Warren County, North Carolina, seeks a seasoned director to lead planning and zoning, code enforcement, and related activities. You will supervise staff, coordinate with the County Manager, and advise the Planning Board and other commissions to implement long-range planning and policy goals.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Urban/Regional Planning or related field with five years in planning and code enforcement, including supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning or related field.
• At least five (5) years of planning and code enforcement experience.
• Three (3) years of supervisory experience; Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate all planning and zoning functions and code enforcement programs.
• Supervise department staff and provide guidance to staff and boards.
• Prepare annual department budget and monitor expenditures.
• Coordinate work with County Manager and Planning Board and other commissions.
