Maintains the radioactive material and medical accelerator licenses are in good standing.* Responsible for radiation safety processes and oversight to ensure a safe work environment. Maintains clinical competence of staffing across modalities* Coordinates and participates in the implementation of new equipment and software including acceptance, commissioning, and training.* Oversees, advises, and participates in treatment planning activities. Collaborates with physicians, dosimetrists, and other colleagues to develop optimal treatment plans.* Performs or participates in clinical treatment procedures as required by regulatory guidance and departmental policy.* Responsible for radiation safety processes and oversight to ensure a safe work environment. Maintains clinical competence of staffing across modalities.* Ensures accurate and timely quality assurance testing including patient specific reviews, measurements, equipment calibration and routine testing. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. \*Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
