Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; nonprofit management, business, public administration preferred.
  • 10+ years fundraising experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership.
  • Track record securing 6- and 7-figure gifts and leading major campaigns.
  • Experience partnering with Boards of Directors and financial acumen.
  • Proficiency with CRM (Salesforce) and ability to align funding strategy with budgeting.
  • Understanding Hawaiʻi’s philanthropic landscape and culturally grounded fundraising.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall strategic direction for fundraising, major gifts, and institutional giving.
  • Develop multi-year fundraising plan with CEO and Board; set revenue projections.
  • Lead data-informed decisions; establish KPIs and dashboards for performance.
  • Oversee grant budgets, compliance, and donor reporting; manage donor stewardship.
  • Cultivate relationships with principal donors, foundations, government funders, and partners.
  • Represent Kupu at events; collaborate with Board and volunteers on cultivation.
  • Oversee philanthropy team, CRM data integrity, and ethical fundraising practices.
