Job summary

HealthPartners is seeking a Vice President of Pharmacy to lead all facets of the pharmacy businesses, including PBM services for a health plan with over 1 million members and more than $1 billion in drug spend managed.

The role includes supervising the pharmacy executive leadership team, overseeing retail, specialty, MTM, hospital-based pharmacy operations, and ensuring delivery of affordable, high-quality care across HealthPartners eight hospitals and related services.

Qualifications

• Ten years of senior management experience including appropriate product marketing, financial management and business operations experience.
• Extensive professional and technical knowledge of health plan operations and/or health care delivery systems.
• Strong negotiating, problem solving and planning experience.
• Proven experience in directing and motivating a staff of professionals.
• Preferred experience in program development or joint ventures.
• Knowledge of operations, marketing development, finance and risk assessment.
• Ability to establish and maintain relationships with leaders, employees, business, government and the public.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills including public speaking.
• Demonstrated passion for high quality, member satisfaction and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for pharmacy benefits administration and pharmacy services, including responsibility for the P&L, operations, and market development.
• Negotiate agreements with PBM partners, specialty pharmacy relationships, mail order pharmacy, formulary development and rebates to drive affordability and margin.
• Oversee pharmacy plan service goals including revenue opportunities, enrollment, and member satisfaction.
• Evaluate vendors and new products to support HealthPartners pharmacy capabilities and negotiate favorable terms.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to improve affordability of pharmacy products and identify growth opportunities.
• Pursue new business opportunities for pharmacy benefits administration and partnerships.
• Assist Sales/Marketing in response to RFPs and in client engagements and sales reviews.
• Engage with national pharmacy leaders and associations to represent HealthPartners as a thought leader.
• Develop and monitor strategic plans and dashboards; accountable for P&L of the Pharmacy service line.
• Oversee 340B program oversight, compliance, and expansion opportunities.
