Job summary

Dominican University in River Forest, IL, seeks a visionary Vice President for People and Culture to advance a people-centered culture aligned with its Catholic, Hispanic-Serving mission. You will lead HR, diversity, compliance, and organizational effectiveness, shaping policies, benefits, and engagement across the campus.

The role partners with senior leaders to streamline structures, conduct compensation analyses, and enhance equity goals within a transformative strategic plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Higher Education Administration, or professional HR certifications preferred.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in HR management.
• Demonstrated experience building an inclusive environment and supporting equity work.
• Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, compliance, and risk management.
• Ability to develop and implement cultural strategies aligned with the university’s mission and values.
• Excellent communication, diplomacy, discretion, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Develop visionary goals for the People and Culture unit to support climate and culture aligned with Dominican’s mission.
• Provide strategic oversight of recruitment, onboarding, retention, compensation, benefits, and workforce planning.
• Lead Title IX and equity initiatives, compliance and reporting in partnership with senior leaders.
• Collaborate with CFO and COO on budget planning, compensation benchmarking, and benefits strategy.
• Foster inclusive, belonging-focused employee engagement and organization development across the campus.
