Williamsburg Landing Chief Operating Officer

Deffet Group, Inc. is pleased to have been retained by Williamsburg Landing to conduct an executive search for a Chief Operating Officer.

Williamsburg Landing, located on 153 peaceful, wooded acres in beautiful and historic Williamsburg, Virginia, is the area’s premier not-for-profit, single-site, CARF-accredited Life Plan Community. The community offers independent and assisted living, separate and secured memory support services, Namaste (care for advanced stages of dementia), adult day and rehabilitative services, and both skilled nursing and long-term care.

The Chief Operating Officer reports directly to the President & Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for ensuring the operational effectiveness of Williamsburg Landing’s facilities, healthcare, and resident services. Partnering with the CEO, the COO will help develop and oversee the future strategic direction to accomplish both the organization’s long- and short-range goals. The COO regularly engages with resident committees and serves as the staff lead for the Health & Resident Services and Plant Operations committees of the Board of Directors. In the absence of the President/CEO, the COO assumes responsibility for fulfilling their duties.

The successful candidate for this position will have a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s highly preferred) and ideally, a minimum of ten years of leadership experience in the senior living industry, with a strong emphasis on operational management, preferred. An active Nursing Home Administrator license in the Commonwealth of Virginia is preferred. Our finalist will have a proven track record in driving operational excellence, financial performance and resident satisfaction. They will excel at assessing and further strengthening current operations and internal systems to ensure best practices and interdepartmental collaboration while promoting a best-in-class hospitality environment.
