Who We Are
Family Financial LLC is a fee-only Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) embracing the multi-family office model. We synthesize investment management, financial planning, tax strategy, and legal coordination into a unified, proactive experience for high-net-worth families. As a technology-forward and client-obsessed firm, we’re expanding our reach and looking for a values-driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to help scale the operational and cultural foundation of our growing enterprise.
The Role
The COO is the Integrator of our firm — the operational and cultural leader who translates the founder’s vision into reality through systems, structure, and leadership. You will own the day-to-day execution of our business strategy while fostering a high-performance, values-driven culture across a fully remote team.
This role requires both operational discipline and emotional intelligence. You must be direct and results-oriented while being a trusted coach, team builder, and example of our core values. You’ll oversee internal operations, optimize systems, align departments, and ensure every client touchpoint reflects excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Serve as the firm’s EOS Integrator — execute on strategic goals through discipline, structure, and measurable outcomes.
- Build and refine internal accountability systems that support cross-functional execution.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and eliminate them through effective process design and team leadership.
Team Collaboration & Culture
- Lead with empathy, emotional intelligence, and respect. Create a psychologically safe and high-performance team culture.
- Coach team members, give and receive feedback constructively, and facilitate healthy conflict resolution.
- Model and reinforce company core values — especially Take Ownership and Embrace Growth — in every decision and interaction.
- Inspire, mentor, and develop a strong remote team culture grounded in trust, transparency, and accountability.
Process & Workflow Optimization
- Document, streamline, and continuously improve firmwide workflows across onboarding, planning, investments, tax, and legal.
- Use platforms like ClickUp, Black Diamond, Schwab Advisor Center, and Wealthbox to ensure visibility, consistency, and efficiency.
Client Experience Oversight
- Ensure a white-glove client experience through seamless internal handoffs, proactive service, and aligned team communication.
- Champion responsiveness and service excellence across the firm — aligned with our “Be Responsive” and “Pursue Excellence” values.
Technology Ownership
- Working knowledge to oversee implementation and optimization of core platforms and tools.
- Identify integration opportunities and reduce manual work through automation and SOP design.
Required Qualifications
- 5–10+ years in an operational leadership role within an RIA or multi-family office.
- Proven experience with EOS (as Integrator or implementation lead).
- Advanced proficiency with Schwab Advisor Center, Wealthbox, Black Diamond, ClickUp, and Google Workspace.
- Track record of leading high-performing remote teams with integrity, accountability, and cultural alignment.
- Strong conflict resolution, coaching, and people leadership skills.
- Direct and clear communication style with the ability to deliver feedback respectfully and receive it openly.
Ideal Candidate Traits
- Strategic thinker with an execution mindset.
- Systems builder with deep attention to detail.
- Culture carrier who builds trust, invites feedback, and holds people (including themselves) accountable.
- Resilient, emotionally intelligent, and calm under pressure.
- Thrives in a values-driven, fast-paced, and growth-oriented environment.
Core Values You Must Embody
- Take Ownership– You go beyond your job description to lead, resolve, and support.
- Communicate with Clarity– You speak plainly, positively, and constructively — even under pressure.
- Be Responsive– You move quickly, follow through, and keep people informed.
- Stay Resourceful– You look for solutions, not blame.
- Pursue Excellence– You raise the bar and hold others to it with respect.
- Embrace Growth– You accept feedback, reflect, and evolve.
