Job description

A rapidly growing, multi-state consumer services company is looking for an experienced, hands-on COO to help lead our next stage of growth.

We need more than someone who can oversee day-to-day operations. We are looking for someone who combines operational discipline, team leadership, and firsthand transaction experience.

The right person will help us build the processes, systems and management structure needed to support significant growth while keeping our existing business strong.

You should know how to rally teams around a clear vision, turn priorities into action and build accountability without losing the entrepreneurial spirit and speed that got us here.

What You'll Own
  • Lead day-to-day operations across a growing, multi-state service business
  • Build and develop a strong management team capable of supporting substantial growth
  • Prepare the organization to launch significant new partnerships and contracts
  • Launch new teams and geographic markets with clear plans, resources and accountability
  • Build repeatable processes and operating systems that support consistent execution
  • Keep existing operations performing at a high level while integrating new business
  • Establish meaningful KPIs, scorecards, budgets and clear ownership throughout the organization
  • Use EOS, including Rocks, Scorecards, Level 10 Meetings and Accountability Charts, to drive execution and follow-through
  • Improve productivity, margins, expense discipline and operational consistency
  • Partner directly with the CEO, CFO and founders on growth, organizational design and major business decisions
  • Help lead operational preparation and execution throughout a private equity or strategic transaction
This Is a Hands-On COO Role

We want someone who can build the organization’s ability to execute, not simply become the person everyone depends on to solve every problem.

You will dig into areas such as:

  • Leadership development and management accountability
  • Staffing, labor productivity and capacity planning
  • Market performance and operating consistency
  • New contract readiness and rollout
  • Processes, systems and decision-making responsibilities
  • Service quality and customer experience
  • Budgets, profitability and resource allocation
  • Transaction readiness and operational due diligence

You should be comfortable getting close to the work, identifying what is holding teams back and building practical solutions that leaders can carry forward.

Success means creating an organization where people understand the priorities, own their results and have the tools and processes to deliver.

Transaction Experience Matters

We are looking for someone who has personally helped lead a company through a private equity or strategic transaction to closing.

You should understand the full process and be comfortable working alongside the CEO, CFO, founders and outside advisors through:

  • Investment banker engagement and transaction preparation
  • Development of the Confidential Information Memorandum (CIM)
  • Indications of interest (IOIs) and letters of intent (LOIs)
  • Operational due diligence and information requests
  • Coordination with investors, buyers, bankers, attorneys and other advisors
  • The work required to move the transaction through closing while maintaining business performance

You should be able to clearly explain your role in prior transactions, the challenges you helped resolve and the results.

What We're Looking For
  • Significant COO or senior operating leadership experience in a high-growth, multi-location or multi-state service business
  • A track record of scaling operations while maintaining performance in the existing business
  • Experience building teams, management structure and operating infrastructure through rapid growth
  • Success launching new markets, locations, teams or major customer and partner relationships
  • Strong P&L, budgeting, labor, productivity and margin management skills
  • Practical experience using EOS to drive accountability and execution
  • Significant firsthand leadership experience in a completed private equity or strategic transaction
  • Deep familiarity with transaction preparation, management presentations, due diligence and closing
  • Experience working directly with founders, executives, investors and transaction advisors
  • Ability to communicate a vision, create alignment and rally teams through change
  • Experience developing leaders, delegating ownership and holding people accountable
  • Ability to introduce structure without creating unnecessary bureaucracy
  • A hands-on, low-ego approach with the confidence to challenge assumptions and make difficult decisions
Why This Opportunity

This is an opportunity to have a major impact on an entrepreneurial business entering a significant stage of growth. You will work directly with the CEO, CFO and founders and help shape how the organization operates as it expands.

We want someone who can help us move from relying on individual effort and constant problem-solving to building strong teams supported by clear processes and consistent accountability.
