Job summary

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Veterans Health Administration leads the front-end operations across a consolidated unit, overseeing patient intake, insurance verification, billing, collections and customer service.

The role directs multiple facilities, ensures CPAC performance and drives revenue results, plus oversees compliance training. Workweek is Monday–Friday, 40 hours. Telework may be authorized; this is not a fully virtual position. Salary range posted: $125,776–$163,514.

• Supports an effective compliance program and trains staff to comply with laws and regulations.
• Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 40 hours/week with tour of duty set by organizational need.

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) has senior management responsibility for managing the front end of the business operations of a consolidated business unit consisting of the hospital functions of multiple facilities that include the intake of patients, insurance verification, billing, collection and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Some of the major duties include: Manages a business unit consisting of the hospital functions of multiple facilities that are responsible for the intake of patients, insurance verification, billing, collection, customer service, cash management, and performance reporting. Controls the operational unit of the CPAC, that is designed to match to the process requirements for efficient delivery of results.

Supports the overall CPAC performance and has responsibility for delivering service and revenue results that meet the expectations of the CPAC CEO, VISN and CC executive management. Collects revenue for all the facilities assigned to the CPAC and must organize and control the CPAC employees located in each facility as well as the operational staff located within the CPAC.

Supports an effective compliance program that trains employees in the proper execution of their duties and motivates them to comply with all laws, rules and regulations. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 40 hours/week, tour of duty to be set based on organizational need.
