Job description

The Department of Urology at Northwell Health is seeking a physician leader for the position of Chief, Urology at Long Island Jewish Valley Stream Hospital. Responsibilities of the role include:

  1. Collaborating with the urology system chair and regional director on clinical operations.
  2. Ensuring high-quality patient care through development and standardization of care protocols.
  3. Fostering a culture of scholarship in quality improvement, health equity, and outcomes.
  4. Maintaining and enhancing the productivity of physician faculty and support staff.
  5. Upholding and advancing departmental excellence.

Candidate Qualifications:

  1. D. Degree or equivalent from an accredited College of Medicine.
  2. Completion of residency and fellowship with Board Certification or eligibility.
  3. Current medical license in the State of New York.
  4. Outstanding communication and management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with medical staff, hospital management, and staff.
  5. Previous leadership experience in division, department, or program management.

About the Department:

Northwell Health's Department of Urology has experienced significant growth across Long Island, New York City, and Westchester over the past decade, providing comprehensive, integrated health care and wellness services. Our physicians are experienced in minimally invasive procedures for all urologic diseases, including conditions affecting the prostate, bladder, kidneys, and genitalia, and urinary tract. We support our team with seasoned partners across all urology specialties.
