Company

Our client is a tech-enabled commercial insurance firm. The company is a Series-B start-up with tier-1 institutional backing. The firm was founded in 2020 and has recently become cash-flow positive with ~$40M in top-line revenue. The corporate headquarters is in the Denver Tech Center and the company employs roughly 35 people total.

About the Role

As the Chief of Staff / Strategic Finance lead you will help define and execute strategic priorities and work across the entire team to drive results. This role will serve as an extension of the executive team and work with every department to ensure company-level goals are being achieved as well as running special projects. The Chief of Staff will contribute to the long-term success of the company by operating at the ground level in terms of understanding the business and its overall execution by bringing a well-rounded mix of strategic thinking and tactical execution to the role.

Responsibilities

  • Drive alignment within the leadership team around strategy, executing on clear goals, and monitoring progress along the way
  • Hands-on operational work, M&A, and internal financial initiatives
  • Lead strategic planning, and build a thorough understanding of product, tech, and strategic needs of the company
  • Oversee projects and helps ensure that day-to-day operations align with the company's goals
  • Serve as a sounding board for the executive team

Qualifications

  • 4-9+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting, or similar
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen with the highest attention to detail
  • Self-starter with the ability to drive projects from concept to completion
  • Comfort being a "jack of all trades" and a super-connector
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment is a plus
  • Experience working with companies in the insurance industry or similar “balance sheet” industries is a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making
  • MBA is a plus

Location

  • This role is hybrid, our headquarters are in Greenwood Village, CO
  • Monday - Wednesday in-office, Thursday and Friday remote
