Job description

CarEdge is the vertical AI company for automotive retail. Our embedded AI agents work on dealer websites and inside their workflows, answering shoppers, lowering dealers' costs, and giving buyers a better experience. CarEdge Certified and our Dealer Transparency Index (DTI) are the trusted third-party standard for how dealers treat customers. Automakers use our AI shopping agent to mystery-shop their dealer networks, and universities license our data for research.

We started on the consumer side, and it's still our foundation. Our AI Negotiator and Concierge help consumers buy and lease cars, and more than 1.5M people follow us on social media. Today our B2B business is growing fast, with dealers, dealer groups, and OEMs signing on.

About the role

We're hiring our first Chief of Staff to be the right hand to our executive team: our CEO and his fellow leaders, Adam and Steve. The executive team is great at spotting opportunities and getting them started. Your job is to take those high-impact initiatives and run them to ground with the operating team, across every part of the business.

This is not an executive assistant role. You'll have full context on the business and our goals, sharpen the team's thinking, and push back when something doesn't add up. We want a thought partner, not a pushover. You'll work on the initiatives that matter most to our growth right now: closing large B2B deals, hiring key people, raising capital, and building industry relationships.

What you'll own
  • Running the executive team's priorities to ground. You take the initiatives the executive team starts, define what done looks like, assign owners on the operating team, and make sure they finish.
  • Business development. We're pursuing multiple seven-figure deals with dealer groups and OEMs. You'll prepare pitches, build the analysis behind them, manage follow-ups, and keep each deal moving.
  • Recruiting for the whole company. You help hiring managers define roles, screen candidates, and close the most talented people who fit how we work.
  • Fundraising support. You'll help prepare investor materials, manage the data room, track conversations, and keep the process buttoned up.
  • Industry relations. You help launch and run our dealer advisory council and working groups with state dealer associations.
  • Operating cadence. You make sure the trains run on time: leadership meetings have clear agendas, decisions get written down, and commitments get tracked.
  • Thought partnership. You bring analysis and a point of view to the executive team's biggest decisions, and you say so when you disagree.
Who you are
  • 3 to 7 years of experience, often including a couple of years in strategy consulting, investment banking, or a similar analytical role, followed by time at a startup or high-growth company.
  • A strong conceptual thinker. You can take a messy problem, find what actually matters, and turn it into a plan.
  • Analytical. You're comfortable building a model, sizing a deal, or pulling data to support a recommendation.
  • An excellent project manager. You keep many workstreams moving at once and nothing falls through the cracks.
  • High EQ and a clear communicator. You earn trust across the team, with dealers, and with investors, and you write well.
  • A fast learner. You can pick up a new discipline, like dealer operations, fundraising, or recruiting, and become useful in it quickly.
  • Comfortable pushing back. You'll tell any of us when you think we're wrong, and bring a better idea.
  • A rope climber. You're energized by ambiguity and see a fast-growing company as room to grow, not a lack of structure.
  • Experience in automotive, marketplaces, or B2B SaaS is a plus.
How we work
  • Location: fully remote, with occasional travel to dealers, industry events, and in-person team time.
  • Culture: we don't count hours. We care about trust, clear communication, and no surprises.
