Job description

The Texas-Israel Alliance was founded in 2007 as the official state chamber connecting Texas and Israel. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening economic ties and forging lasting partnerships that drive innovation, trade, and economic growth for the mutual benefit of Texas and Israel. Our work sits at the intersection of business, government, and international collaboration.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly capable and driven Chief of Staff to work directly with the Executive Director in executing strategic initiatives, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring organizational alignment across a fast-moving and high-impact agenda.

This is a senior, high-trust role. You will serve as an extension of the Executive Director—bringing structure, follow-through, and strategic judgment to a wide range of internal and external efforts. The role requires comfort operating across strategy and execution, discretion with sensitive information, and confidence engaging with senior stakeholders across government, business, and philanthropy.

What You Will Do
Administration
  • Manage the Executive Director’s calendar, scheduling, and prioritization of time
  • Prepare meeting agendas, take notes, and ensure timely follow-ups and execution
  • Track action items across meetings and initiatives to completion
  • Act as a point of coordination between the Executive Director and internal/external stakeholders
Operations
  • Manage relationships with vendors, partners, and service providers
  • Oversee day-to-day operational workflows and internal processes
  • Lead project management across initiatives, events, and special projects
  • Support budgeting, expense tracking, and operational reporting
Government, Investor, Donor & Prospect Relations
  • Support relationship development and ongoing engagement with elected officials, investors, donors, and strategic partners
  • Prepare briefing materials, correspondence, and follow-ups on behalf of the Executive Director
  • Maintain and manage the stakeholder CRM, ensuring accurate records, notes, and follow-ups
  • Support fundraising, sponsorship, and partnership efforts through structured outreach and coordination
Communications
  • Curate and manage newsletters and regular community communications
  • Oversee social media planning, content coordination, and posting cadence
  • Support public relations efforts, including drafting messaging and coordinating with external PR firms when needed
  • Ensure consistent voice, tone, and messaging across all outward-facing communications
Who You Are
Essential
  • Mission-aligned: You care deeply about Texas, Israel, and economic development
  • Highly organized: You thrive in fast-paced environments and bring order to complexity
  • Strong communicator: You write and speak with clarity, diplomacy, and confidence
  • Tech-savvy: Comfortable using modern productivity tools, CRM systems, and AI-enabled workflows
  • Independent and discreet: You exercise sound judgment and can be trusted with sensitive information
Desirable
  • Background in government, venture capital, economic development, or nonprofit leadership
  • Experience supporting senior executives, founders, or board-level stakeholders
  • Event production and public-facing engagement experience
  • Familiarity with donor relations, sponsorships, or fundraising operations
Why Join Us
  • Be a strategic operator: Work side-by-side with leadership to move ideas into action
  • Shape the Texas–Israel agenda: Engage directly with policymakers, investors, entrepreneurs, and community leaders
  • Build real leverage: This role offers meaningful responsibility and exposure across public and private sectors
  • Grow into leadership: A launching pad for future senior roles in policy, venture, or high-growth organizations
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $90,000 annually (W-2 employment)
  • Bonus potential: Performance-based incentives
  • Paid Time Off: Unlimited PTO, subject to reasonable use and performance expectations, with a minimum of 14 days encouraged annually
  • Location: Hybrid, based in Austin or Dallas, with occasional in-person meetings and events
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday with flexible hours
  • Travel: Occasional travel for events, board meetings, and stakeholder engagements
