Job description

The Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce is entering an exciting season of growth, and we’re looking for a Chief of Staff to help us turn big ideas into meaningful action.

We are a small, collaborative team serving a broad and growing business community. Our work moves quickly and spans membership, advocacy, education, workforce, events, community partnerships and initiatives that strengthen the Greater Spokane Valley region.

This is a new role designed for someone who enjoys being at the intersection of strategy and execution.

Working closely with the President & CEO, the Chief of Staff will help move organizational priorities from idea to implementation, lead cross-functional projects, strengthen internal systems and accountability, and help develop new programs, partnerships and revenue opportunities. The role also provides support across organizational operations, financial planning and strategic partnerships.

You might be a great fit if you:
  • Love taking an idea and figuring out how to make it happen.
  • Can see both the big picture and the details required to get there.
  • Are an excellent project manager who naturally creates clarity, timelines and follow-through.
  • Enjoy research, problem-solving and helping leaders make thoughtful decisions.
  • Are comfortable working across teams and bringing people together without needing to be the person in charge of everything.
  • Think entrepreneurially about programs, partnerships and sustainable revenue.
  • Are willing to roll up your sleeves. This is a strategic role, but it is also a very hands‑on one.
  • Value direct communication, accountability, curiosity and being part of a team that genuinely enjoys working together.

The Chief of Staff will have the opportunity to lead special projects, evaluate and build new programs, improve organizational systems, support financial planning, and coordinate partnerships with businesses, educators, nonprofits, foundations and other community organizations.

About Our Team

We care deeply about the community we serve, and we also have fun. We work hard, collaborate often, celebrate wins and expect each other to follow through.

We value people who are willing to ask questions, offer a different perspective, bring solutions to the table and tell us when something isn’t working. We want someone who will help us continue building an organization that is ambitious about its impact and thoughtful about how we get there.
