Job summary

Southamptonschools is seeking the Director of Pupil Personnel Services to provide visionary leadership for the district’s special education and student support services, ensuring FAPE in LRE and compliance with IDEA and NYS laws.

The role reports to the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, is a full-time twelve-month administrative position with ASAP start, and involves collaboration with families, agencies, and district leaders to drive program quality and continuous

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of administrative experience in special education or pupil personnel services.
• Extensive experience chairing CPSE and CSE meetings.
• Demonstrated expertise in IDEA, Section 504, Part 200 regulations.
• Strong fiscal management and program development skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision, leadership, and oversight for district special education programs and pupil personnel services.
• Advise the Superintendent and Board of Education on special education and regulatory compliance.
• Lead development and evaluation of instructional programs for equitable opportunities.
• Ensure inclusive practices and evidence-based specially designed instruction.
• Coordinate CPSE/CSE processes and external collaborations.
