Job summary

Baylor College of Medicine seeks the Chair of Anesthesiology to serve as the senior physician leader for anesthesia services across CHRISTUS Children’s Hospital in San Antonio. The role leads strategic vision, clinical excellence, operations, physician engagement, education, and growth of the Department of Anesthesiology.

Qualifications

• MD or DO required and board certified in Anesthesiology.
• Fellowship training in Pediatric, Cardiac, or Obstetric Anesthesiology or related subspecialty.
• Texas Medical Board unrestricted license.
• Minimum 10 years of clinical anesthesiology experience.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive physician leadership experience.
• Proven success in physician leadership, quality improvement, and departmental management.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for pediatric anesthesia programs across the hospital.
• Establish strategic vision, clinical excellence standards, and operational performance.
• Lead physician engagement, education, research, and department growth.
• Oversee recruitment and development of departmental leaders.
• Represent anesthesia services with hospital leadership and the medical staff.
