Job summary

East Texas A&M University is seeking an Executive Director of Innovation & Industry Partnerships to provide strategic leadership for innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry engagement. The role leads the Venture College and connects university talent with entrepreneurs, investors, and regional partners from Commerce, Texas, with periodic travel to other locations.

The position drives a university-wide ecosystem to advance ideas through validation, partnerships, and commercialization,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Five years of progressively responsible professional experience in innovation, entrepreneurship, venture development, industry engagement, or a closely related area.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic and operational leadership for university innovation, entrepreneurship, and venture-development activities.
Lead and manage the Venture College, including program design, recruitment, mentoring, workshops, and pitch events.
Develop a visible pipeline to help faculty, staff, and students validate opportunities and pursue impact.
Build a culture of innovation through collaboration with colleges, units, alumni, and external partners.
Develop annual priorities, operating plans, and outcome measures for Venture College and related programs.
Represent the university to industry, investors, government, and community partners at meetings and events.
