Job summary

Pembroke Hospital, part of Universal Health Services, seeks a Chief Nursing Officer to lead nursing strategy with a hands-on, patient-centered approach. You will shape a hospital-wide nursing program aligned to the mission, vision, and regulatory standards, while partnering with corporate to support education, governance, and regional leadership.

Qualifications

  • Licensure: Current MA nursing license or permit.
  • BSN from CCNE-accredited program; MSN strongly preferred.
  • Experience in behavioral health nursing management.
  • Extensive knowledge of nursing principles and patient care activities.
  • Strong leadership, written and verbal communication skills.
  • 3+ years progressive nursing management experience.

Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) Opportunity

Pembroke Hospital is a 120-bed acute care, inpatient psychiatric facility located south of Boston in Pembroke, MA. Pembroke Hospital is situated on 26-acres and located just minutes from the Atlantic coast. We offer inpatient and partial hospitalization treatment to teens, adults and older adults, and our services are designed to assess, stabilize, and treat patients by addressing their primary symptoms and problems.

The Chief Nursing Officer is a key member of the Pembroke Hospital Leadership Team who will integrate and coordinate a patient centric nursing strategy with a hands‑on approach and keen focus on patient care; ensuring that delivery of high-quality and cost-effective health care is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Universal Health Services and in accordance with government regulation, licensing and accreditation requirements. The CNO participates in the hospital’s strategic planning and contributes to the achievement of institutional goals and objectives. The CNO will focus on 5 key areas: People, Service, Quality, Growth, and Finance

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Licensure: Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the state of MA.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a CCNE accredited nursing program; Master of Science in Nursing is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of behavioral health nursing clinical practices and management.
  • Extensive knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective management and supervisory practices. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Three or more years of progressive nursing management experience
  • Ability to plan, direct, and monitor others’ activities with demonstrated leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment
