Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a Chief Nursing Officer to lead nursing practice across our inpatient rehabilitation hospitals. You will shape patient care delivery, develop nursing governance, and collaborate with clinical leadership to achieve outstanding outcomes.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required by state regulations.
• BLS certification (ACLS preferred).
• CRRN certification within one year of eligibility.
• Five years of inpatient hospital experience.
• Two years of nursing management experience with 24-hour accountability, budgeting, and policy oversight.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with medical, clinical, and therapeutic disciplines to create a patient-focused culture delivering superior outcomes.
• Develop and implement patient care programs, policies, and procedures for nursing care and services.
• Represent nursing on committees (Governing Body, Quality Council, Med Exec, Infection Control, Education, Ethics).
• Support diversity and maintain an inclusive work environment.
• Lead organizational mission, motivate staff, and drive measurement and assessment of outcomes.
• Ensure Joint Commission, CMS, State standards and rehabilitation nursing guidelines are followed.
• Utilize staffing models considering patient acuity and budget NHPPD to optimize health and wellness.
