The University of Miami Health System Department of Radiology has an exciting opportunity for a Chief Technologist to work at Sylvester Cancer Center in Miami. The incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day operations and administrative duties ensuring efficient workflow of Nuclear Medicine; compliance with budgetary policy; ensuring the highest quality diagnostic examinations; and compliance of State/Federal/Joint Commission regulations, department/hospital policies and procedures, objectives and philosophy. The Chief is accountable for the efficient patient throughput and 24-hr supervisory responsibility of department and of all departmental staff members’ scheduling, technical guidance and performance improvement.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
For those locations that perform Bone Mineral Density exams (BMD) in the Nuclear Medicine department, the Technologist must possess a valid State of Florida General Radiographer or Basic X-Ray Machine Operator license within one year of hire.
CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine Technology accredited program.
Certification and Licensing:
NMTCB or ARRT-N registered.
Must possess a valid State of Florida License as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
CPR and BLS certification required.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
Supervisory experience preferred.
