Alaska Regional Hospital is seeking a Chief Medical Officer to lead clinical and quality initiatives, aligning hospital strategy with medical staff and board expectations. You will direct infection control, risk management, safety and credentialing while shaping patient-centered care across the facility.

The role requires a physician with 10+ years of experience, board certification, and strong leadership in a complex health system.

Qualifications

• MD or DO required and board certified as a physician.
• 10+ years of clinical practice experience required.
• Experience as CMO or equivalent in a large hospital or regional health system.
• Board certification and state medical licensure are required.
• Advanced coursework in management or business preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical performance and quality initiatives to ensure superior patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with medical staff, hospital leadership and boards to align strategy.
• Provide clinical guidance on credentialing, utilization and quality profiling.
• Oversee medical staff affairs, education programs and physician relations.
• Drive payer relations, contracting issues and clinical program development.
• Promote evidence-based practice, patient safety and risk management.
