Job summary

State of Ohio is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified physician to serve as Chief Medical Officer for the male population at Pickaway Correctional Institution in Orient, Ohio. This full-time role focuses on delivering comprehensive primary care within a secure correctional setting.

Responsibilities include patient examinations, treatment planning, medication management, and collaboration with internal teams. On-call coverage and adherence to ODRC policies are expected.

Qualifications

• Certificate to practice medicine in Ohio as issued by the State Medical Board.
• Board-eligible or board-certified physicians for internal medicine, family medicine, or emergency medicine.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary care services as Chief Medical Officer for male inmates at Pickaway Correctional Institution.
• Collaborate with staff to administer treatment using national standards and EHR documentation.
• Conduct exams, write evaluations and reports, order and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Manage medications and participate in continuous quality improvement meetings.
• Provide on-call coverage as needed and collaborate on specialty referrals.
• Supervise providers and ensure care meets policy and community standards.
