Job summary

Southwest Care Center seeks an experienced physician leader to serve as Chief Medical Officer. This executive role combines strategic clinical leadership with direct patient care in a Federally Qualified Health Center dedicated to compassionate care across diverse communities.

Key responsibilities include leading medical services, maintaining a primary care panel, guiding quality improvement, and developing clinical policies.

Qualifications

• Executive leadership experience in medical services and clinical operations.
• Ability to maintain an active primary care patient panel while delivering evidence-based care.
• Experience leading quality improvement initiatives and promoting patient safety and clinical excellence.
• Experience developing and implementing clinical policies, protocols, and standards of care.
• Proven ability to mentor, support, and evaluate physicians and advanced practice providers.
• Experience partnering with executive leadership on strategic planning, recruitment, workforce development, and service expansion.
• Oversight of clinical quality metrics, population health initiatives, and regulatory compliance (HRSA, CMS, HIPAA, OSHA, DEA, NM Medical Board).
• Experience promoting team-based, integrated care across nursing, behavioral health, pharmacy, case management, and other disciplines.
• Champions effective use of electronic health records and workflow improvement.
• Cultivates a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and patient-centered care.
