Job summary

Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, in partnership with RWJBarnabas Health, seeks a chief for the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division. This full-time role leads clinical, educational, and research activities, shaping high-risk pregnancy care across the region.

The ideal candidate will have board certification in MFM and OB/GYN, substantial leadership and scholarly activity, and a vision for expanding services and fellowship programs while mentoring junior faculty.

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree.
• Board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Board certification in Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
• Eligible for medical licensure in New Jersey.
• Minimum of five years of clinical experience in maternal-fetal medicine.
• Clinical research experience and scholarly activity.
• Experience with program development, faculty mentorship, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Evidence of national presence through publications or presentations.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the clinical, educational, research, and administrative activities of the MFM Chief.
• Shape growth of maternal-fetal medicine and regional perinatal services.
• Mentor and support a team of faculty, fellows, residents, and students.
• Maintain an active clinical practice in inpatient and outpatient MFM services.
• Expand high-risk pregnancy care, prenatal diagnosis, fetal therapy, outreach, and telemedicine.
• Direct and strengthen the accredited MFM fellowship program while maintaining ACGME standards.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, neonatologists, and multidisciplinary partners to advance care.
• Promote clinical quality, patient experience, and program outcomes.
• Support research and publications with external funding.
• Recruit and retain exceptional faculty and staff.
• Support complex family planning and reproductive healthcare.
