A leading developer of distributed energy assets, partnering with top-tier data center operators, hyperscalers, and crypto infrastructure providers, is seeking a Chief Investment Officer to lead platform-level capital strategy and transaction execution. The firm specializes in behind-the-meter solar deployments integrated with critical digital infrastructure, supported by real-time data and proprietary siting intelligence.

This is a high-trust executive leadership role reporting to the CEO, responsible for overseeing investment strategy across generation, storage, and infrastructure integration.

Responsibilities

• Own capital formation strategy across sponsor equity, tax equity, and debt
• Lead all investment structuring for distributed energy projects sited at data centers, crypto facilities, and other high-load digital infrastructure
• Negotiate and close project-level and platform-level financings, including joint ventures and hybrid infrastructure capital stacks
• Oversee underwriting methodology, portfolio risk models, and internal investment committee governance
• Manage investor relationships across institutional, private equity, and infrastructure fund stakeholders
• Partner with origination and grid strategy teams to align interconnection and load co-location efforts with capital deployment priorities

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of experience in energy infrastructure finance, with a demonstrated ability to raise and deploy $500M+
• Prior leadership in project finance, M&A, or capital markets roles within renewable energy, digital infrastructure, or private equity-backed platforms
• Familiarity with distributed generation asset classes and complex host partnership models
• Deep understanding of power market economics, utility engagement, and structured finance tools
• Executive-level communication and governance skills, including board and LP management

Preferred Background

• Exposure to hyperscale or edge data center projects, crypto facilities, or hybrid energy + infrastructure transactions
• Experience navigating high-load interconnection processes and siting near transmission-constrained nodes
• Familiarity with investor profiles including Blue Owl, DigitalBridge, Blackstone Infrastructure, or similar
