Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a business-related field with CIA or CPA certification and at least four years of auditing experience.
• Five years of progressively responsible professional auditing experience.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations, and Illinois fiscal procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Directs Internal Audit staff and assigns work.
• Develops and manages a comprehensive annual internal audit plan and reports.
• Coordinates external audits by the Illinois Auditor General and other auditors.
• Evaluates audit findings and communicates impact to the State Superintendent of Education.
• Identifies and evaluates significant risk exposures and suggests improvements.
