Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a Fraud Prevention and Enterprise Integrity Officer in Lincoln, NE. The role provides executive oversight of fraud prevention, investigations, compliance, audits, and risk management across DHHS programs.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, develop enterprise integrity policies, and coordinate with federal and state partners to protect public resources and ensure fair access to services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related fields as listed in qualifications.
  • Progressively responsible leadership in enterprise integrity, fraud prevention, compliance, investigations, auditing, or risk management.
  • Experience leading complex initiatives across multiple programs/divisions is required.
  • Experience developing and implementing organizational strategies, policies, or operational initiatives.
  • Master’s degree and government/healthcare program experience are preferred.
  • Data analytics, predictive models, and performance metrics experience are valued.
  • Professional certifications such as CFE, CPA, CIA, CISA, AHFI, or CPC are beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an enterprise integrity strategy and governance framework.
  • Provide executive leadership for agency-wide fraud prevention, investigations, compliance, audits, payment integrity, recoveries, and risk management.
  • Advise Division Directors on enterprise integrity risks, policy development, and operational improvements.
  • Oversee administrative investigations, audits, provider reviews, corrective actions, sanctions, and overpayment recovery.
  • Coordinate referrals with the Attorney General, law enforcement, federal agencies, and other oversight bodies.
  • Develop data analytics and risk-based methodologies to identify fraud trends and vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain policies, internal controls, and documentation to support defensible decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws and program requirements.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team with clear expectations for quality and accountability.
  • Promote an enterprise culture of integrity through education and continuous improvement.
