A leading aviation services provider in Peru, IN, is seeking a Chief Inspector responsible for ensuring aircraft meet safety and quality standards. The role involves leading a Quality Control team, overseeing inspections, and ensuring FAA compliance. Candidates must possess an FAA A&P Certificate and have at least 5 years of relevant experience. Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience in aviation maintenance.
  • Strong working knowledge of FAA Part 145/121 regulations.
  • Ability to interpret Engineering Orders (EOs) and technical drawings.
  • Ability to interpret Engineering Orders, drawings, and documentation systems.
  • Proven leadership to motivate a focused team.
  • Paint-focused operations or minor maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of 6–8 Quality Control Inspectors.
  • Oversee inspection activities related to paint operations and limited maintenance.
  • Approve aircraft for return to service following maintenance processes.
  • Approve aircraft for return to service after paint/maintenance processes.
  • Manage QC records, documentation, and stamp control.
  • Liaise with FAA during audits and inspections.
  • Drive continuous improvement via investigations and actions.
  • Support SMS and promote safety culture.

Job Description & Requirements:

The Chief Inspector ensures that every aircraft we deliver meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. This is not just about checklists, it’s about leadership, attention to detail, and partnering with both inspectors and customers to ensure every aircraft leaves our hangar airworthy and ready to fly.

  • Lead and mentor a team of 6–8 Quality Control Inspectors.
  • Oversee all inspection activities related to paint operations and limited maintenance.
  • Ensure strict compliance with FAA regulations, the Repair Station Manual (RSM), and Quality Control Manual (QCM).
  • Approve aircraft for return to service following paint and authorized maintenance processes.
  • Manage QC records, documentation, and stamp control.
  • Liaise with FAA representatives during audits and inspections.
  • Drive continuous improvement through investigations, corrective actions, and cross-functional teamwork.
  • Support the Safety Management System (SMS) and contribute to a culture of safety and accountability.
Qualifications:
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate – Required
  • At least 5 years of Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience in aviation maintenance.
  • Strong working knowledge of FAA Part 145/121 regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret Engineering Orders (EOs), technical drawings, and documentation systems.
  • Leadership skills to motivate and manage a focused team.
  • Experience in paint-focused operations or minor maintenance (preferred).
