Description
  • Develop and administer effective standards of quality and airworthiness for Company aircraft. Assure, through continuous analysis and surveillance programs, that these standards are consistently achieved.
  • Ensure that all technical publications are at a current revision status. Prepare and submit revisions for approval.
  • Ensure that all maintenance performed on aircraft is done in accordance with approved flyADVANCED Repair Station Manual and the Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Responsible for quality control of aircraft components and monitoring the continuing analysis and surveillance program.
  • Responsible for instituting improved inspection procedures and methods which would tend to enhance the quality and economic efficiency of maintenance.
  • Ensure that all required inspection reports and forms are completely and properly filled out at the completion of work orders, retain forms for 2-year period following work scope completion.
  • Collect flight hours and cycles on all aircraft for computer entries. Hours and cycles can be called in, faxed in, or emailed.
  • Responsible for auditing and updating Aircraft Airworthiness Limitation items, maintenance due lists, and component life limit reports on all aircraft during inspections.
  • Responsible for creating work orders on incoming aircraft to include all calendar, hour or cycle-based items and/or customer discrepancies as needed. Upon completion of work orders responsible for final log entry sign offs and invoicing of completed work orders.
  • Verify, audit and update all associated tracking of engine & airframe components, inspections and overhauls at completion of work order/inspections.
  • Create Airworthiness Directives Reports and audit Mandatory Service Bulletins for inspection aircraft. Enter applicable ADs and SB AD’s and SB’s to work orders as required.
  • Create FAA Form 337 for repairs and alterations as required with all necessary information and send to FAA Aircraft Registry Branch as required. Retain copy of Form 337 upon completion and file.
  • Responsible for weight and balance revision reports and re-weigh procedure reports as required.
  • Assist in communication with FAA FSDO for Airworthiness Certificate Replacements on customer behalf utilizing FAA AWC portal.
  • Assist in communication with FAA FSDO for Application of Special Flight Permits on customers behalf utilizing FAA AWC Portal.
  • Manage company tool calibration program. Make periodic checks on all Inspection tools and the calibration of precision test equipment. Coordinate as necessary with Purchasing/Supply to ensure that all tools are in calibration.
  • Supervise the activities for all the contract maintenance agencies (Avionics, Engine, Propeller). Make required recommendations and reports including but not limited to utilization, airworthiness compliance, chronic discrepancies, mechanical interruptions, and reliability reports.
  • Responsible for attaining all necessary forms from the maintenance contractors for all such work done.
  • Provide for certification of all parts and materials used in the repair of, modification of, or overhaul of all company aircraft, components, and associated parts. Provide documentation for certified parts to customers as required to include FAA Form 8130-3 or Certificate of Conformity as required.
  • Plans, directs and coordinates activities within the Inspection Department and plans activities in conjunction with other departments.
  • Manages a future team of inspectors and administrators to ensure compliance with Repair Station Manual and regulatory requirements.
  • Conformance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Develops training modules, techniques and programs to ensure department activities are properly conducted and documented.
  • Assist Director of Maintenance in developing and yearly reviews of all employees within the maintenance department of flyADVANCED - KLNS. Reviews will include performance assessment, review of employee self-assessment.
Qualifications
  • No person may serve as Chief Inspector unless that person meets the requirements of flyADVANCED - KLNS. In addition, that person shall know the maintenance portions of the flyADVANCED – KLNS Repair Station Manual.
  • The Chief Inspector must feel comfortable with PCs (MS Word & Excel, EBIS, CAMP and Airplane Manager) and interacting with customers and vendors via phone, email, text, online forums and in person. Must have 10 years plus experience in an FAR Part 135 or 145 operation.
  • Air Frame and Power Plant License.
  • Inspection Authorization (IA).
  • Valid Driver’s license.
